It's always pleasing to eye to have visuals. Using image generators will motivate students to visit the blog for updates, especially those who are visual learners.
The students also like to see pictures of themselves in the classroom. Posting pictures of them working efficiently in the classroom will encourage them to continue to work hard.
Image generators, like Voki, offer Movie Poster creators that can be used across all subjects. For example, in math, the students can create posters that display mathematical formulas, properties, and other important math concepts. As the students personalize these projects, they will retain these concepts into their long-term memory; as they are working, they will gain a better conceptual understanding of the concepts being learned.

Avatar
Avatars are great because it gives the site personality.
It's also great for the blogger as he or she spends a good amount of time to personalize his or her website and make the site more welcoming. I know personally, I did enjoy my time designing "myself" to be appropriately presentable. =)
Avators can also be used to enhance student achievment.
Talking avatars can be used to remind students about expectations for assignments, instructions for assignments, and etc. Students will most likely be intrigued by this unique gadget and visit the site frequently. This will give them an opportunity to use this site regularly, not only for "entertainment," but also for informational help/resources.

Blogger
Learning about blogger.com was very exciting and useful!
Blogs are a neat way to get students more involved because they love to work with technology.
This blog can be used for my math classroom to post homework assignments, daily lessons, and supplemental math resources. A forum can also be created for students to communicate with one another about questions, feedback, and other comments regarding math. This will help students because they can communicate with their peers in other periods to get a wider range of feedback. If there are students who do not feel comfortable speaking up in class, this blog is a great alternative to help them communicate in a different way where they don't feel threatened.
Blogs may help keep students accountable because as they visit the site, they can stay updated on daily assignments, lessons, and also use resource links for extra help.
I'm excited to post supplemental resources to help my students receive extra help and excel academically.
